Agios Nicholas is the first village the traveller encounters on arriving in the prefecture of Evrytania. It is located just 5km from Karpenisi at an altitude of 1050m. It is nestled in the unique chestnut forest surrounded by the deep green fir trees and lofty mountain peaks. During the winter months it has the most frequent snowfall of almost all the villages of Evrytania.
There are many attractions the visitor can enjoy and explore such as the chapel of Agia Paraskevi which is situated amongst the towering fir trees and cool water springs.
Palialona is where we find the ruins of the old mill on the banks of the Vroussou river in the area of Aravanitovrissi amongst the fir and chestnut trees and the coldest water spring of the area.
The area offers hiking, horse riding and off-road driving on the forest trails with many enchanting surprises.
